Briquetting Press
For processing metal and combustible waste
Nowadays, we focus more and more on the efficient use of resources, sustainability and overall ecology. One of the key elements of this effort is the efficient processing of waste, both metal and combustible. In this context, the briquetting press becomes an effective solution, which enables compact and economically advantageous processing of various types of waste. A briquetting press is a device that allows the material to be compressed into compact briquettes without the addition of a binder. The briquettes are mechanically resistant, their density varies between 60 and 90% of the density of the original material. The briquettes have the shape of a cylinder depending on the tools used and the type of press with dimensions up to 140 mm, which facilitates their handling, storage and transport. These presses have become increasingly sophisticated and specialized to meet the diverse needs of industries.

Advantages of implementing a briquetting press into operation:
There are a number of advantages associated with using a briquetting press for waste processing. These include reducing the volume of waste, reducing the costs associated with its removal, increasing productivity, profit, improving the cleanliness of the material and the working environment, minimizing the environmental impact, recycling and valorization of input materials, and the much-requested automation of production today.
We offer a wide selection of presses with different capacities for small and large operations. The briquetting press and its accessories offer a complete solution from waste generation to the final briquette. Furthermore, there is the possibility of an atypical briquetting press solution tailored to the customer according to his needs and the nature of the operation. The press has optional equipment for individual types of presses, such as material level sensors, anti-freeze oil, the diameter of the pressing tools, or if you have some company colors, that is also possible. The briquetting press is a sophisticated device that can be equipped with remote management, which allows monitoring the press from any location. This means that even when working remotely, such as working with robotic workplaces, you are in control of every step of the production process. The briquetting press is a simple and reliable device with very easy and intuitive operation. One of the many advantages is that we are able to lend some type of briquetting press to test directly in your operation. More than 33 years of experience of our company in the production of these devices on the market all over the world is a guarantee for you of our reliability and expertise. Installing a briquetting press is an investment in the future of your production. The briquetting press is suitable for processing various materials, as we mentioned in the introduction. We could divide them into metal, combustible and other waste.

Briquetting press for metal waste
This press is suitable for pressing aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel and other chips from metalworking, including grinding sludge. The briquetting press is intended for small and large engineering operations producing metal shavings from machining, for processors and foundries. During briquetting, the effect of high pressure on the material changes the shape and mechanical wedging of individual particles to form a compact mass – briquettes.
At the same time, cooling and cutting fluids (emulsions and oils) are forced out of the material, which is undoubtedly one of the main advantages of implementing a briquetting press into operation. After filtering, these liquids can immediately be returned to production. While up to 30% of the weight of the used liquids goes as waste together with the chips, in briquettes it is only units of percent. Another advantage of putting the briquetting press into operation is the saving of material during melting. Metal briquettes usually melt better. Slivers float on the surface and burn easily due to their huge surface area. While the waste during melting of loose chips reaches values of around 20%, in the case of briquettes it is around 10% (for piece material it is around 4%). Thanks to the aforementioned properties of pressed material (higher density and purity, easier handling and smaller losses during melting), production waste in the form of briquettes can be sold at a higher price than loose chips. As a result (and also thanks to the mentioned savings), the investment in the purchase of a briquetting press will pay back in approximately one year.
Metal briquettes
Briquettes contain more material per unit volume than loose chips, so they can be used more efficiently and better results can be achieved during processing. Compared to loose chips, briquettes are easier to handle and reduce transport costs. In addition, the cleanliness of the working environment will increase. The briquetting press has many variants and combinations of power and pressure. It can be equipped with various accessories, which are suggested according to the specific operation and tailored to each customer.
Our smallest briquetting press is the iSwarf 50. A small, universal and compact press with a capacity of up to 90 kg/h depending on the type of pressed chips. The concept of the machine fits into the ever-increasing demand for production automation. The main advantage of this briquetting press is due to its small dimensions, it is suitable for installation directly under the conveyor of the machine tool, where automatic operation is ensured. All the chips produced are processed directly at the place of origin and thus their handling from these places is eliminated. By the fact that the press is installed directly behind the machine tool, it is ensured that essentially piece material is removed from it, which is freed from a large proportion of liquids. Thanks to the compression ratio (input material/briquette), the balancing frequency is up to ten times lower, depending on the material. The biggest advantage is the versatility of the press, which is due to the fact that it includes an ARTEP crusher with a patent-protected construction. The crusher is used for crushing long chips and clumps into a loose fraction. The press is then able to process both short and long shims. The interesting construction solution of the crusher allows loose chips to be simply rolled over without crushing, in other words without stress and without energy consumption or wear, and only long chips can actually be crushed. The overall design of the press is also industrially protected and deviates from existing solutions while maintaining the simplicity and thus the reliability of the machine. However, the press does not necessarily have to be connected directly to the machine tool, but can also be free-standing with manual filling or tipping of the material. Here it is necessary to take into account the enlargement of the hopper. However, it is also possible to connect the press to various types of transport, e.g. pneumatic transport.
This concept of the machine makes it a unique and universal briquetting press for chip processing. Automation is becoming the basis of modern industry and manufacturing. With our innovative briquetting press, you will not only achieve a significant increase in the efficiency of CNC workplaces, but also minimize losses and increase profitability. The higher performance range of the briquetting press is represented by the iSwarf 440,550, iSwarf 800 and BrikStar M and MD with outputs of approx. up to 2200 kg/h depending on the type of pressed chips.
There is a high level of diagnostics of the state of these machines and the possibility of connecting to the company network. The briquetting press with higher performance for processing metal chips from machining is suitable as universal equipment for machining centers. A briquetting press can include various accessories, which we will also design and manufacture here in Malšice. The briquetting press can thus be part of the entire technological line. These are conveyors, high-volume hoppers and containers, separators and crushers. They separate pieces of material that are not suitable for briquetting. In addition, there are tilting devices and other accessories of the briquetting press, such as scales for weighing briquettes, sensors for material levels, emulsion filtration, software for controlling the press, carts for chips from machining and for other materials and others.
Briquetting press for combustible waste
The press is suitable for processing sawdust, shavings, wood dust, dry chips, paper, hay, straw, crushed energy plants, poppy seeds, chaff and others with an optimal material moisture content of up to 15%. By using a briquetting press, you process this waste into solid briquettes and thus obtain cheap fuel from your own sources. Other advantages of briquetting are more comfortable and more efficient burning of waste in the form of briquettes, reduction of the volume of material for cheaper storage and handling, reduction of dust in production and improvement of the working environment, and we must also mention the recycling of materials and the energy use of plant residues.
This briquetting press also has many variants and power combinations and can be equipped with various accessories that the customer can choose according to his requirements.
